Introducing Keith and Beryl Blezard

Keith and Beryl Blezard have been eyeing up a move to Omokoroa Country Estate for a long time so are delighted to have finally settled here in June this year.

“We looked at many places over the last 10 years but circumstances didn’t allow us to make the change. During this time Omokoroa Country Estate was always our preference.”

The Western Bay’s sunny climate, our village’s established grounds with mature trees, and our quality homes were the main drawcards. The Blezards appreciated the fact our village had an interesting layout and didn’t look like an estate with homes laid out in rows.

“Moving is a traumatic experience for most people of our age but overall things were good.”

Keith retired in 2005 at the age of 70 after running various businesses over the years – the last of which was an art and picture framing business in Rotorua. He now enjoys playing snooker and wood turning.

Beryl was the head of the hairdressing department at Waiariki Institute of Technology in Rotorua for 20 years and was also very involved with hairdressing competitions throughout her career. “I was a New Zealand hairdressing judge at both national and international competitions,” she says. Her main hobbies now including sewing, knitting, baking and her family.

The couple say their family are very supportive of their decision to relocate here. “They understood we needed to make the move while we are in good health and able to take advantage of what Omokoroa Country Estate has to offer.”
