Omokoroa Country Estate COVID-19 Update

It’s been a week already and we are all waiting to see what the update will be for our country on Friday 27th August. We hope you are safe and warm in your bubbles.

Hearing Aids
We have found a few hearing aids around the Estate and surrounding areas. If you wear a hearing aid, please be careful when removing your face mask as to not pull out your hearing aid as well.

Disposable Face Masks
It is suggested that disposable face masks are to be replaced every 4 hours and should be placed in a rubbish bin after use. Remember if you need some more masks, please contact the office as we have them in stock.

Mail
Delivery Days are Tuesday and Thursday, so the mailroom and Library are still closed as with the village centre.

New Residents
We were expecting some new residents to the Village and are sad their move-in dates have been delayed. We can continue sales of ORAs in level 3, so incoming residents are able to view their new home. We will be sure to keep our distance and ensure all cleaning protocols are strictly observed after any visit.

Under level 3 we ask “all new residents, or residents returning from staying outside the village, to have a period at home to make sure they’re in good health.”

External Contractors
Building work is permitted under level 3 and you may see contractors and others coming into the village.

All suppliers and contractors will need to register with the village and, if this is their first visit for the week, sign a declaration that they do not have any flu-like symptoms and have their temperature recorded. They will be inducted under the new covid rules which include proceeding directly to their job site, completing their business promptly and leaving the village.

We have delays to our refurbishment timelines so will welcome our contractors back as soon as we can.

Lockdown Blues
We have spoken to a few of you who have had some hard days. This is totally normal and you are not alone. After speaking with the experts (yourselves) we have some suggestions for things that helped:

  • Turn off talk back and play some favourite music
  • Have a hot shower
  • Go for a walk
  • Phone a friend or loved one – someone that makes you laugh
  • Indulge yourself with a sweet treat
  • Make some jam
  • Crack into a difficult puzzle
  • Watch some funny movies

Remember we are all in this together, our staff are just a phone call away. If you need anything do not hesitate to call us!!

Spring
Is on the way! There’s no lockdown for the plants and they are all blooming with bright colours. Please save the date for our annual Spring Garden Ramble which will be Sunday 31st October.
